Islamic New Year Resolution – 1 Muharram, 1447H
Dear Son,
As this new Hijri year begins, I want to offer you something simple, my son — not a list of demands, but a path. A rhythm. A reminder that the real journey is always inward.
These are 10 intentions to carry with you this year. Let them be your anchor in noisy times, your compass when things feel lost.
Eat less, fast more. Not to punish yourself — but to purify. Let hunger teach you focus, gratitude, and strength.
Speak less, remember Allah more. Words are powerful. Use them with purpose, and let your silence be filled with zikr.
Sleep less, rise for night prayers. Even once a week — wake in the quiet. That’s when hearts are most alive.
Chase less luxury, give more to others. Kindness weighs more than gold. The one who gives always receives.
Spend less time in crowds, more in reflection. Learn to enjoy your own company. That’s where self-trust grows.
Complain less, make more dua. Don’t waste your breath on grumbling. Use it to speak to the One who listens.
Balance dunya with akhirah. Work hard in this life, but don’t forget the one that lasts forever.
Ask less from others, give more instead. Be someone who uplifts — even with a smile, a word, a small act.
Seek help from Allah first, always. People may mean well, but only Allah is constant.
Rely less on the world, more on your Creator. That’s where your strength, peace, and future truly rest.
Take this list, not as pressure — but as light. You won’t be perfect, and you don’t have to be. Just walk the path, sincerely.
This year, may you grow quieter inside, stronger in faith, and closer to Allah.
I’ll be walking beside you — and praying behind you.
Your Abah
